VI – CELEBRATION OF THE
PEACE FLAME IN TEHRAN

2007 was an important date in the recent history of Cote
d’Ivoire with regard to the serious crisis which has
shaken it for five good years. Indeed, this day marked
the holding of the ”peace flame” ceremony in Bouake.
In a
bid to be in perfect spiritual communion with other
Ivorian all over the world and in Cote d’Ivoire during
these strong moments our nation was experiencing,
Ambassador TIETI organized within the embassy a
gathering to which all Ivorian residing in Iran were
invited.
These
moments spent together were an opportunity – via
technical means deployed by the embassy – to watch on
wide screen, the live broadcasting of the ceremony
carried by the Ivorian television.
Whether
members of the diplomatic mission or not, students in
classic universities or in Islamic studies at QOM,
Ivorian flooded the embassy premises.
In
attendance, were also the ambassadors of Sierra Leone
and Guinea, diplomats from Mali, South Africa, and
Morocco, as well Iranian citizens who befriended our
country who were among our guests. They spontaneously
accepted to share the joy of Ivorian. Refreshment was
served at the end of the ceremony.
