THE SIXTEEN MAJOR EENTS OF 2007
VII – COMMEMORATION OF
THE INDEPENDENCE DAY 07 AUGUST

The
positive evolution of the situation in Cote d’Ivoire
after the signature of the Ouagadougou peace accords on
4 March 2007 and the reunification of our country marked
by the ‘‘Peace Flame’’ ceremony on 30 July 2007 in
Bouake gave us enough momentum and motivation here at
the diplomatic representation.
This
translated into the organization of a ceremony
commemorating the accession to international sovereignty
of our country. This was particularly impacting with
regard not only to the means deployed but also to the
number of guests:
- The
swimming pool of the Ivorian residence which now serves
for the celebration of national feasts was covered;
- A
special decoration with giant balloons bearing the
colors of our national flag was displayed with numerous
flowers;
-
Ivorian children performed beautiful balls;
- A
diversity of Ivorian dishes was proposed to the guests
and there were fireworks;
- More
than 1000 personalities (diplomats, officials, but also
Iranian civilians and businessmen) were invited to this
beautiful celebration.
The
celebration of the Independence Day 2007 continued with
a dinner Ambassador Roch TIETI and his wife Simone TIETI
offered to the Ivorian community.
