More
than forty Iranian businessmen, journalists, and
translators stayed in Cote d’Ivoire from 4 to 14
September 2007. This was in the framework of the second
economic exploration mission of Iranian businessmen.
Designed by Ambassador TIETI with the inestimable and
important financial contribution of the honorable Felix
DIETY, who, alone took care of the airborne
transportation costs for the businessmen; this mission
made it possible to send in our country businessmen
working in various sectors of economic activity in their
country.
It is
important to say that this initiative was totally NEW
when it comes to the habits of this country. Actually,
never before, this country which is just recovering from
five years of war, had offered its businessmen such a
golden bridge. But concerning the initiatives to built a
win-win partnership, one had to give the best possible.
Unlikely other travels by Iranian to Cote d’Ivoire to
which Ivorian are now used; this time there was no fair
with containers, tapestry, lustres, and other odds and
ends for sale.
Right
from the outset it was clear that this was an ‘‘economic
and commercial exploration mission’’. In other words,
the objective was, through various exchange forums, or
one on one contacts, numerous working sessions with
ministers and main departments of their ministries, to
explore in details the various business opportunities
which really exist between our two countries.
Thus
thanks to the interest showed by the various authorities
met, and also thanks to their availability and openness,
Iranian, as well as Ambassador Roch d’Assomption TIETI
himself were able to discover during the audiences and
other work sessions, the enormous business opportunities
Cote d’Ivoire offers.
The
same way, Ivorian understood, by being in contact with
Iranian businessmen, why their ambassador in Tehran was
so much urging them to go beyond the campaign of
demonizing orchestrated by the international media. This
international press is driven by journalists whose
countries, however, have big money relationships with
Iran.
As the
exploration mission was wrapping up, a team of the SAHAR
TV Network, an Iranian television channel broadcasting
from Tehran in various languages, including French also
arrived on the banks of the Ebrie Laguna. Its immediate
objective was to make a series of reports on Cote
d’Ivoire over two weeks.
To
implement such an ambitious visiting program, whether at
thz departure from Tehran or during the travel to and
fro Abidjan, Ambassador TIETI, head of the Ivorian
diplomatic mission, was able to organize all this thanks
to the availability and total involvement of Mr Esmel
Raoul Eugène AKPRO, present treasurer of the Cote
d’Ivoire embassy in Iran. He, too was able to rely on
the flawless availability of Mrs Setareh SEIFI, Anahita
TADAYON, Sabine NGUESSAN, Nargues A. BAGHERI, Mrs
Mahasti MOMENI, Mr. Safa FAZELI, and Dr Seyed Safar
MOUSSAVI, all employees of the Embassy.
In
Abidjan, Ms Catherine YHAYE, Mr Achille MEVO and Auguste
GADEAU, at the head of their structures that are
respectively Group JIREH, COMPULTENSE INTERNATIONAL, and
the cabinet GGAC, accompanied by all their collaborators
mobilized to make this second economic exploration
mission a total success.
The
only regret and true mystery are maneuvers of all kinds
schemed by some people to try to impede the organizers
and their hosts from conducting the ‘’countryside
visit’’ stage of the mission. Thus, unfortunately, due
to the cancellation of these stages, this important
Iranian delegation was not able to discover Grand-Lahou,
Sassandra, San Pédro, Gagnoa, and Yamoussoukro, the
charming places of beautiful Côte d’Ivoire as they exist
in the countryside.
But we
will do it soon because Cote d’Ivoire is beautiful and
eternal.
